One thing I’ve learned is these sims are boring. Chase goes to work, comes home, works out, eats dinner, and goes to bed. Candy wakes up, practices guitar, hones her comedy skill, and goes to work, then returns and goes to sleep. All the while they’re not doing any of that, they’re tending to Daniel.
The first night of Daniel’s life was easy. He slept most of the night. Since then, every two hours or so the crying. Feeding, changing, attention… a litany of desires for which the only way he knows to ask is through the shrill crying that wakes any parent up from the deepest of slumbers. For Chase, this means going to work sometimes without enough sleep. At least Candy works late, so she can catch a nap beforehand. It’s a shame, really. The kid’s on the wrong schedule. He’s fussy all night and quiet most of the day.
In spite, or perhaps more directly, as a result of their boring lives, Candy reached level 6 in her career and chose the musician’s path. Chase reached level 6 in his career and chose the officer’s path. Now Candy must learn the piano while Chase continues to build his charisma skill.
What this family needs is something fun to do. Something that’s a break from the monotony of day-to-day life. Unfortunately, a vacation is not in the cards right now as they don’t wish to carry a baby on vacation. That’ll have to wait until Daniel reaches toddler age.
Right now, the most pressing goal was the sudden breaking of the bathroom sink. Time for Chase to learn how to fix the plumbing. Last few breaks he simply replaced the sinks that broke. That gets expensive quickly.
Since it’s also Summer in Oasis Springs (the season, not Holiday), the house heats up quickly, so Chase had to submit to the request of Candy to do something about the heat.
After buying the thermostat, he treated Candy to a Sunday breakfast.
In spite of the boredom, the tedium, and the monotony, they continue to press forward with life in the hopes that buckling down now means much more later on in terms of free time and even financial mobility. Chase is making plans, you see. He has a dream home he wants to build, but it’s going to cost a lot of money.
Until then, there was one thing that happened that makes life feel a little easier…
…. Daniel’s now a toddler. In all the time spent with the daily life, the boy’s birthday hit quick, fast, and in a hurry. 12 Sims Days fly by so quickly.
